On June 6, the German-Danish Chamber of Commerce hosted a roundtable on energy transition at Kongens Nytorv.

The purpose of the event was to analyse and discuss the ongoing and future-related impacts of energy transition, especially within the Baltic region.

The roundtable was opened with a few welcoming words by Reiner Perau, director of the German-Danish Chamber of Commerce.

The participants then listened to the first presentation by keynote speaker Simon Blakey, Senior Advisor at IHS Markit and acknowledged authority on European energy markets and energy and climate policy. In his analysis, Blakey looked at the prospects for new and conventional energy sources in the Baltic Sea region.

Natural Gas and the German "Energiewende" was the topic of the second presentation by Dr. Gerhard König, energy market expert and former Wintershall Board member and CEO of WINGAS.

The Head of Department Energy Strategy & Planning at Rambøll, Søren Løvstad Christensen, concluded the roundtable with his presentation on infrastructure developments and the green energy transition.

Each of the speeches provided a variety of inputs for a vivid discussion and Q&A session, where the participants had the chance to ask questions and further discussed the presented topics.

After a summary and some closing remarks by Reiner Perau, the participants went over to a reception with finger food, drinks, and networking.
